Chapter 5

Happened before Taemin’s confession

I’m glad that the plan is working. Nothing will make my bubble bursts today. I guess I should bring them some drinks but then again my money will be lessened. Whatever, it’s just once in a lifetime chance.

Just when I enter the door
“I think I like you!” I dropped everything I was holding. Am I dreaming? Am I having a nightmare? Is it one of those dreams that you’ll actually die?

“I’m sorry, I… I must be disconcerting you” I have to go away from this. I don’t know what to do so I just run and run and run and run. Anywhere my feet bring me. I just want to be alone right now. I don’t know I even said that nothing can make make my bubble sursts today except for that incident. But as I rush, I felt like my tears are already falling. It didn’t make sense but they were sopping my face like I’m soaking in the rain.

I reached the dog shop that I’ve always wanted to go to when I have so many problems. The owner welcomes me without his concern, I was crying.

“Miss, are you alright?” he finally discerned my tears
“Gwaenchana~” I keep patting the puppy’s head while wiping of those watery substance called tears.

“Araso, if you need any help I’ll be here” the owner left me on my own. He sensed that I want to be alone.

I let time pass, and as I saw that it was getting dark
“Annyenghaseyo ajhussi~” I left with a really phony smile. I run back home, I didn’t want anyone to notice that I was sobbing.

“You’re la--,” My mom was about to scold me but I didn’t let her; I just went straight to my room and lock myself in.

“Are you alright?” she keep asking as she knocks on my door
“Yunni, open the door~” she’s still pushing her way in

“That’s it. I’ll call Jonghyun” that was the sentence she said before she finally stopped.

A couple of minutes later, there was these louder knocks on the door
“Auntie, can I have the key?” I can hear the door knob clicking sound and it soon open

“I’ll talk to her~” Jonghyun insists and my mother let him

“What’s the problem?” he said shaking me off from bed “None of your business~” I said as I cover myself with a blanket

“It’s Taemin, right?” he felt it, everything I was crying for is LEE TAEMIN
“He was looking for you”
“Well, tell him to stop” I said with a little anger in my tone
“That wouldn’t help. He didn’t even know why you run away”
“Just like you, it’s none of his business”

“I heard he already confessed to Aeri”
“Now you know the reason! I think I should just give up on him~”

“That’s it, I’m calling hyung”
“Don’t you think you all love calling each other too much?” I tried to laugh on my own joke but I can’t

“Yunni, she said she want to give up” Jonghyun said already talking to Onew oppa, he then lends it to me
“Weh?” I asked harshly
“Aren’t I supposed to ask you that question?”

“I just want to!” I keep shouting, I don’t know why
“You’re not that harsh when you’re talking to me. Come on, tell me, it won’t bite” he sounded like he’s so calm

“Taemin, he already confessed to Aeri unni; now, tell me, would that be a good idea to continue our plan?” I explained
“But you shouldn’t give up. That’s just maybe a test of love or something”

“Yeah, right. And I don’t care anymore!” I have to hung up the phone since I have nothing to say

“Yah, why did you do that? I have something else to say to him” Jonghyun asked. “Next time I saw you crying again. I’ll call out my girlfriend”
“She doesn’t scare me that much~” I retort with a really fed up tone “Now can you go?” I was a bit inconsiderate but I have to do something for him to leave me alone.

[Taemin’s POV]
The next day I went to Yunni’s place good thing there’s no school
“Good morning Mrs. Kim, is Yunni there?”
“She’s upstairs in her room. Yah, Taemin, Yunni went home crying, do you have something to do with it?” she looked at me inquisitively, “Aw, cute. Are you giving that to her? Well, good luck. You’re the only thing she ever thinks about you know that?”

I just leer at Mrs. Kim and went straight to Yunni’s room, I didn’t tried to knock instead I just entered the room and welcome myself in

“Yunni, Are you alright?”
“What are you doing here?” she really sounds mad

“Well, I wanna know why you would run away yesterday”
“Well, it’s none of your business”
“I know it’s all because of me, so I brought you this”

“Puppy!” I showed her the puppy from my back which she really wanna have she kneels on the floor and grabs the puppy
“But why?”
“I told you I know I’m the reason why you run away yesterday”

“But do you know the real motivation?”
“No. But with this, I know you’ll forgive me!” good thing I know that she wanted a puppy

“Pabo!” she scratched my head for me “But, isn’t my mom livid about this, she did let you go enter the house with this”
“No, I guess you were the only one who thought that she’ll be angry” I rub her hair and mess it more up

“You better take care of that small thing. I spend almost all of my savings just to buy you that”
“I’ll name it… Mushroom, it reminds me a lot of you” she smiled and played with the thing again

[Aeri’s POV]
I was about to say “I feel the same” but what happened made much of my anxiety. Yunni’s expression—it was never unexpected. I always felt how she feels for Taemin, it’s just that Taemin didn’t know since they were friends for too long.

I always forget about one thing. When I left the States, there was always this someone in my mind…Jino. I left him without even saying goodbye. I thought I’ll get over him easily but as I get closer to Taemin, the more I miss him. I see a lot of him in Taemin. I guessed that’s the only reason I like Taemin.

That Monday afternoon, I waited for Taemin. Yunni and Taemin were together; maybe they’re already in peace.
“Yunni, can I have a talk with Taemin… in private?” she understood in the minute I told her, she left the room afterwards.

“Where is she going?” Taemin asked without knowing anything
“She said she’ll just be looking around. Taemin, come here~” I called him; he gazed at me but not straightly. I guessed he sensed it.

“About yesterday…” I still tried to tell him what I had decided
“The thing is…”
“I don’t think…” I keep pausing
“The two of us…” I still don’t wanna do this but I have to. For the sake of two person who are already in pain.

“I understand. My brain isn’t that small” he still handled to smile
“It’s not you. I actually have…”
“Namjachingu~”
“How did you--,?”
“Well, that’s the only reason why a girl says ‘no’. Onew hyung told me” he laughed and scratched his head

“I’m glad you understand. But wait, don’t you like Yunni?” I have to ask that question just to mix it up a bit

“We’re just friends” he protested
“That’s what they always say~” I rolled my eyes with a really glad expression “Go look for Yunni, we need to practice!”

[Yunni’s POV]
I wonder what they are talking about. Private? It’s maybe really complicated. Is Aeri Unni gonna say ‘yes’? So, what does this mean that I have to truly give up on Taemin? This is much more complex than whatever they are talking about. I have to move away from Taemin for a couple of weeks. I guess Jonghyun is right; I should just study more than dance though dancing is my life, I have to take a risk for myself, Aeri, Taemin and I can count my mom.

“Yunni!” I can hear Taemin’s voice far-off “Where are you going?” he wheezed as he asked the question
“Somewhere stuffy”
“Stuffy? Won’t that hurt?” he asked innocently, and I just giggled in respond

As we rehearse on our dance
“This maybe our last practice together~” I sighed
“Huh?”
“Well, I need to pass that really huge upcoming test next month and I should focus on that not dancing”
“Witty. I never taught you’ll say that” he’s like praising me but he looks actually offended

“I think you should do that, too”
“Are you nuts? I won’t be studying anything!” he shouted right through my face
“Yah, why don’t you just try to be like Onew oppa? He’s one of the top students here unlike you!” and so I did the same thing

“Why do everyone always compare me to hyung, don’t you know that we also have diversities?” perhaps I’m a bit too hard on Taemin I should never said that

“Love quarrel?” Aeri Unna breaks off

“Taemin, I just wish you would understand that I need to make the grade on this not only for myself, but also to my mom. She’s hoping that I could make it to high school even with all this dancing” I pleaded Taemin

“Give it up Taemin, you won’t stop her. It’s not forever, just one month, can’t you wait?” Aeri Unni keeps explaining
“And don’t you know that girls like smart guys yet have a really good sense of humor” she added
“Annyeong. Don’t fight over one thing too much~” she finally says goodbye

“Whatever~” and that, I know that he was already mad

Wah. Okay, I think I already made things so dense in here. The Aeri-Taemin team up just ended. And Yunni, aw yes, she totally surrender. Well, you’ll see where this is all going. It’s pretty boring, too isn’t it? Yeah. I hate it myself for writing such lame stuffs.
